SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a nozzle for a vacuum cleaner. Nozzle has a base having an edge and a suction opening in the base. At least one flexible valve protrudes from the base between the lip and the suction port. Flexible valve has a first and a second part separated by an opening. First and second parts are pressed together when the nozzle is moved in a first direction, in which the edge is a guide edge, to close the opening or to close the hole, and the first and second portions are offset from each other when the nozzle is moved in a second direction, in which the edge is the trailing edge, to open the opening or to further open the opening. Present invention also relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising a nozzle for a vacuum cleaner.
