SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the light water reactor fuel assembly. Fuel assembly for the operating according to the reactor operating cycles light-water reactor contains the light-water reactor fuel rods, which are elongated in the longitudinal direction, are located parallel to each other and contain nuclear fuel materials, including enriched uranium with the first degree of enrichment. Fuel assembly for the light-water reactor also contains the burnable absorber containing fuel rods, which are elongated in the longitudinal direction, arranged in the lattice structure together with the light-water reactor fuel rods and contain nuclear fuel materials, which main component is uranium, which has the second degree of enrichment, a lower degree of enrichment than the said first degree of enrichment, and the burnable absorber. At that, the first degree of the enriched uranium enrichment satisfies the following condition: the excess reactivity at the end of each working cycle exceeds 0.3 % Δk, and the second degree of enrichment satisfies the following condition: the excess reactivity at the end of each working cycle approaches zero.
EFFECT: reduction of the minor actinides formation level in spent fuel.
