SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fuel assembly of a light-water nuclear reactor. Fuel assembly of a light-water nuclear reactor contains fuel rods. Fuel contains a material based on uranium dioxide, which includes enriched uranium-235, and some fuel rods contain a burnable absorber. In this case, the fuel assembly was made using fuel data indicating whether each combination of the parameters p n/N and e is suitable for use as a core, where N is an integer equal to or greater than two and equal to the number of fuel rods in the fuel assembly; n is the number of rods containing a burnable absorber and an integer equal to or greater than one and less than N; p is the mass percentage (wt.%) of the burnable absorber in the fuel; and e – enrichment of uranium-235 in wt.%, contained in the fuel rods in the fuel assembly.

EFFECT: decrease in reactivity margin in the case of an increase in uranium enrichment in a light-water nuclear reactor.
