FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a data carrier, first of all a valuable or tamper-proof document, with a substrate that includes at least one paper layer, moreover, a windowed security thread is embedded into the substrate in the elongated longitudinal direction of the thread and the direction of the thread perpendicular to it, while the threads are noticeable on at least one surface of the substrate in predetermined windowed regions. According to the invention, the windowed regions should include at least one group of several micro-windows arranged next to each other in the transverse direction of the thread, these micro-windows are created using the paper-making process and have an edge with characteristic irregularities created during the manufacture of paper.
EFFECT: proposed is a way to protect documents from forgery.
