FIELD: printing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: combined printing press has been proposed for producing security documents, in particular banknotes, containing a screen printing group and an intaglio printing group adapted to process substrates in the form of individual sheets or successive sections of a continuous web. Said screen printing group is located upstream of the intaglio printing group and contains at least one screen printing unit for printing a pattern made with an optically variable ink on one side of the substrate, moreover, the optically variable ink contains flakes that can be oriented by means of a magnetic field. Said screen printing group additionally contains a magnetic unit located downstream of the screen printing unit, moreover, the magnetic unit is designed for magnetic induction of an optically variable effect in the pattern made by an optically variable ink applied by the screen printing unit. Said screen printing group additionally contains at least one drying / curing unit for drying / curing the pattern made with an optically variable ink, the optically variable effect being induced by the magnetic unit before the substrates are transferred to the intaglio printing group.
EFFECT: proposed is a combined printing press for producing security documents.
