FIELD: internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: compact selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system is described, which includes a gas inlet system, an evaporative module, and an SCR reactor. Inlet system is designed to transfer heat to the evaporative module, mix the reducing agent with the exhaust gas, and allow an approximately uniform flow of exhaust gas through the catalyst. Evaporative module is adapted to evaporate the reducing agent from the solution of the reducing agent or the precursor of the reducing agent and direct the evaporated reducing agent to the gas-inlet system where it mixes with the exhaust gas. SCR reactor contains a SCR catalyst and is in fluid communication with the inlet system and the evaporative module.
