FIELD: hydraulic equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic engineering, in particular to hydraulic structures with earth dams. Aim of the invention is the creation of soil dam with central filtering device in form of diaphragm or core with a filter spillway. Soil dam includes top and bottom prism of permeable material and anti-seepage device in form of diaphragm or core of weakly or waterproof material. Elevation of comb of anti-filtration device in area of filter spillway is located below elevation of the ridge of the anti-filtration device outside the section of the filtration drain in such a way as to ensure the passage of water from the calculated flood. It is possible to use a diaphragm or a core of an earth dam to organize the passage of water flow over their crest, i.e. as a filter spillway.

EFFECT: use of the proposed design of earth dam with filter spillway allows reducing the cost of hydroelectric complex by 15–30 % due to rejection of the coastal spillway or its reduction.
