SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering, in particular to the field of monitoring the functioning and protection of nuclear plants. Device for protecting the nuclear reactor against overpowering contains the power meter, the setting device for warning and emergency signal setpoints, two measured power signal comparison units, two OR circuits, warning and emergency signal generators, the reference voltage source, and the additional measured power signal comparison unit. Outputs of the two comparison units are connected to the inputs of the corresponding two OR circuits, the outputs of which are connected to the inputs of the warning and emergency signal generators. First input of the additional comparison unit is connected to the output of the power meter, and its second input is connected to the output of the reference voltage source. At the same time, the analog switch of the measured power signal is introduced into the device, the outputs of which are connected to the first inputs of comparators of the comparison units.

EFFECT: increased speed of the emergency protection actuation, increased accuracy of actuation of the emergency protection, increased informative value and expanded scope of application of the device.
