FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling a nuclear reactor, mainly a fast-neutron reactor. The absorber rod control equipment includes a program control device that receives a signal from a power level sensor, an energy production counter and a position sensor, and transmits through the absorber rod selection selector the function of automatic power control from one absorber rod to another absorber rod in such a way that the absorber rod moves by forming certain sinking profile of the system of absorbing rods.
EFFECT: increased average coolant temperature at the core outlet and the possibility of increasing the reactor power without increasing the coolant flow rate by providing dynamic profiling of the energy release field and reducing the unevenness of the coolant temperature field at the core outlet, as well as the possibility of reducing the maximum shell temperature of fuel elements, which increases reliability and safety.
