FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of a resin, comprising mixing at least one polyisocyanate with at least one polyepoxide, wherein said mixing is carried out in the presence of a catalyst system based on at least one metal-free Lewis base having at least one nitrogen atom selected from the group consisting of 1,8-diazabicyclo-5,4,0-undec-7-ene and derivatives thereof, wherein the catalyst system is used in an amount of from 0.001 to 1 wt. % in terms of the amount of polyisocyanate and polyepoxide used. Said method includes at least the following steps: (i) mixing at least one polyisocyanate, at least one polyepoxide and a catalyst system to produce mixture (I); (ii) adding mixture (I) to a mould or desired reaction zone by casting, spraying or distributing; (iii) heating mixture (I) to a temperature in the range of 70 to 100 °C up to the hardening of the mixture, wherein reaction of at least one polyisocyanate with at least one polyepoxide does not add any compounds with acidic hydrogen atoms. Resin for making seals, for making structural components for propeller blades, boat fuselages or body parts or for coating and the use of such a resin is also disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result is the achievement of a long "open time" of the resin system, which allows mixing and processing of the components of the reaction system for a long time, achieving rapid hardening with appropriate temperature treatment, as well as achieving excellent mechanical properties of products from the disclosed resins.
