FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a process for producing a hard foam comprising reacting at least one polyisocyanate with a mixture comprising at least one polyepoxide, water, and at least one additional compound with acidic hydrogen atoms, wherein said reaction is carried out in the presence of a metal-free Lewis base having at least one nitrogen atom, the catalyst being selected from a group consisting of 1,8-diazabicyclo-5,4,0-undecene-7-ne, N-methyl-N'-(dimethylamino-methyl)piperazine, pentamethyl-diethylenetriamine, methylimidazole, and mixtures thereof and derivatives thereof. Also disclosed are hard foam obtained by the said method, and the use of such a hard foam for the manufacture of insulating materials, vacuum insulating panels, refrigerators, building elements, propeller blades of wind power plants or elements for the construction of boats and cars.
EFFECT: technical result is providing a method for obtaining hard foam materials having improved compressive strength, bending strength, tensile strength, as well as good temperature stability, good resistance to the influence of the environment and chemicals.
