SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to the field of diagnosis of amyloidosis by staining histological samples, and can be used in pathological anatomy, cytology, clinical laboratory diagnostics and biology. Method of fluorescent identification of amyloid for the diagnosis of amyloidosis is based on the use of 2,7-(1-amino-4-sulfo-2-naphthylazo)fluorene for the staining of disodium salt preparations.

EFFECT: method does not require exceptionally high qualification of personnel, has a high degree of specificity and provides a low probability of false positive and false negative results due to the almost complete elimination of background staining of tissues.
