FIELD: wireless communication equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of profile feeding into a protected element embedded in a mobile data terminal. Method is performed by server (500) for managing a profile for managing profiles (P1, P2, PROV) of a protected object. Method comprises: step (S25) of transmitting message (302) to said protected object for modifying the active profile of said object; stage (V50) of initialization and start of the timer (TIM); and, in the event that said server (500) does not receive a message indicating which profile is active in said protected object (100), until the specified duration has elapsed after the timer has been started: the stage of launching audit procedure (VI00) to determine which profile is actually active in said protected object (100).
EFFECT: ensuring that the profile administration server contains accurate information about the current active profile in the protected item.
