SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used to create power supplies that provide a constant value of direct current. Device for producing direct current comprises series-connected direct voltage source (1), direct voltage-to-pulse voltage converter (11), pulse voltage-to-direct voltage converter (47), and also direct current stabiliser (60) and load (58) connected by one terminal to an output of pulse voltage-to-direct voltage converter (47) and by another terminal to an input of direct current stabiliser (60), and control circuit (80) connected by one input to one of the terminals of load (58) and by another input to an output of direct current stabiliser (60), and by an output to a control input of direct voltage-to-pulse voltage converter (11), providing, as load (58) varies, for the generation of a stabilising voltage at direct current stabiliser (60) and the production of an invariable quantity of direct current flowing in the power supply circuit of load (58). Maximum output voltage at load (58) with a stable load current is limited only by the maximum permissible voltages of the elements included in pulse voltage-to-direct voltage converter (47) and in direct voltage-to-pulse voltage converter (11), which are large enough, and may reach hundreds of volts or more.

EFFECT: significantly wider range of variation of load (58) values.
