FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical industry and can be used in the manufacture of sorbents, catalysts, composite materials. Hydrocarbon raw materials are decomposed in a quartz reactor at 850–900 °C in the presence of an inert gas. Total consumption of gaseous reagents is 200–250 dm3/h. Quartz capsule with quartz glass cuttings is placed in the reactor. Pyrolysis products are condensed in a trap installed at the outlet of the reactor. Resulting liquid products, collected in a trap, are subjected to high-temperature heating at 850 °C in the presence of air. As the trap is filled with liquid products, it is replaced with another one, ensuring continuity of the process. Method is simple and based on the use of available raw materials.
EFFECT: target product is cellular carbon foam which does not contain inorganic impurities.
