FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst for dehydration of a C1-C4 hydrocarbon mixture to olefins, containing a molybdenum compound and a carrier. The catalyst is characterised by containing, as a molybdenum compound, a nanostructured coating of molybdenum oxycarbide with a thickness of 5 to 50 nm, and containing, as a carrier, multi-walled carbon nanotubes with an average outer diameter of 70 nm, a length of 1 to 500 mcm, a specific surface of 38±2.2 m2/g, and a bulk density of 0.1 to 0.2 g∙cm-3. The invention also relates to a method for producing the catalyst.
EFFECT: provided are one-stage process for producing a catalyst, improved environmental friendliness of the process, increased total yield of olefins such as ethylene and propylene, absence of coke formation.
