FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power industry and can be used to determine the location of damage caused by short circuits to earth on two different power lines of a distribution network of 6–35 kV with low ground fault currents. Essence: measure the active and reactive components of the phase current and voltage in emergency mode. Calculate the inductive resistance to each circuit, proportional to the distance to the places of damage on the first and second power lines. When calculating the inductive resistance, additional relative inductive resistances of mutual induction of the phases for each of the power lines are taken into account.
EFFECT: improving the accuracy of determining the distance to places of short circuits to earth on two power lines in networks with low short circuit currents to earth.
