FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective sleeves for protection from environmental heat and relates to a wrappable textile sleeve and a method for reducing the formation of cracks in a foil layer of a wrappable textile sleeve. Sleeve includes an elongate wall extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite ends with lengthwise extending edges extending along said longitudinal axis between said opposite ends. Wall includes a textile layer, a polymeric film layer fixed to said inner textile layer and a metal foil layer fixed to said polymeric film layer. Polymeric film layer is 0.0001–0.0004 inches thick, and metal foil layer is 0.00035–0.0010 inches thick.
EFFECT: invention enables to create a sleeve with better flexibility and resistance to cracking.
