FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: user sends an Internet access request through a gateway of a first organisation and provides the organisation with some credentials for authentication with a second organisation. The credentials provided contain at least one piece of information about the second organisation. The first organisation contacts the second organisation for authenticating the user and granting the user access to the Internet. The second organisation then gives the user the authorisation to access the Internet. According to the invention, after receiving the access request the gateway redirects the user to a web page of the second organisation, where the user provides the second organisation, through the web page, further authentication credentials required for identification.

EFFECT: safe authentication by dividing credentials into two parts, one of which is provided to the first organisation and the other to the second organisation.
