FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing a suspension of a molybdenum-containing composite catalyst for hydroconversion of heavy oil stock, which comprises introducing an aqueous solution of a catalyst precursor into a mixture of hydrocarbons, followed by sulphidation. To obtain a mixture of hydrocarbons, high-pressure polyethylene is introduced to the vacuum residue, preheated to a temperature of at least 200°, until polyethylene content becomes equal to 10–25 percent by weight of the vacuum residue, and they are mixed in a hydrogen atmosphere being heated to 320–360 °C. Aqueous solution of catalyst precursor is introduced into a mixture of hydrocarbons to a molybdenum content of 10–30 percent by weight of polyethylene by drop thermolysis at the same temperature in a hydrogen atmosphere with mechanical stirring at a speed of at least 500 rpm. Sulphidation is carried out at the same temperature with dimethyl sulfide vapor in a stream of hydrogen with a sulfur-to-molybdenum molar ratio in the catalyst precursor S/Mo = 2.0–10 until 2–50 nm particle sizes are formed in a suspension of molybdenum-containing composite catalyst.
EFFECT: technical result is to reduce the particle size of the catalyst in the suspension to a nanosize, increase the stability of the suspension, reduce catalyst consumption during hydroconversion and reduce the formation of coke.
