FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of high-strength steels with improved weldability for use in shipbuilding, construction of offshore structures, transport and heavy engineering, and other industries. Production of rolled products of a unified chemical composition in sheets up to 30 mm thick with an adjustable level of strength and enhanced plasticity characteristics is ensured by making blanks of unified composition in the form of ingots, slabs, forgings, their austenitization is carried out at 1,220–1,250 °C, rolling blanks at a temperature of 1,200 °C to thickness, providing a degree of deformation of 25–50 %, cooling to a temperature of 950 °C and final rolling at the specified temperature in one pass with said final degree of deformation and subsequent cooling with water in a controlled cooling unit at a speed of 20–80 °C/s or in a tank with water to the temperature of the shop; softening is carried out no later than in 8–10 hours at a temperature of 620–640 °C with a shutter speed of 10–12 min/mm and the finished steel is cooled in water.
