NET STRUCTURE OF CARBON MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C01B32/00 B32B7/04

Abstract RU 2676287 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of carbon-containing composite and structural materials. Surface of the carbon material is halogenated by treating it with a halogen-containing gas from 1 s to 24 h at a temperature of 0–600 °C. Carbon material is selected from the group consisting of activated carbon, carbon nanohorn, carbon nanowire, graphite, carbon black, diamond-like carbon, carbon fiber, graphene, amorphous carbon, fullerene and carbon nanotube. Treated carbon material is in contact with a nucleophilic compound, the molecule of which contains two or more nucleophilic groups, from 1 s to 24 h with the formation of a network structure, in which carbon materials are crosslinked to each other through a linking group derived from said nucleophilic compound. Nucleophilic compound is at least one of the group consisting of an aliaromatic amine, an aromatic amine, a Grignard reagent, alkyllithium, a metal alkoxide, a dithiol, and an organic peroxide. Halogenation and treatment to form a network structure can be performed simultaneously or continuously in any order.

EFFECT: resulting mesh structure has high mechanical strength, for example, tensile strength.
