Expander for bulk material container comprises a frame, a plurality of wall panels, pivotally connected to the frame to allow unfolding and in the unfolded position defining the inner space of the expander, connecting elements, each of which has two edges that are pivotally connected to adjacent wall panels, and the first expansion elements, pivotally connected to the upper edge of the wall panels and mounted pivotally between the position of contact with the wall panels and the position of elongation of wall panels, where in the elongation position of the wall panels, flexible membranes are stretched between the first expansion elements, wherein the membranes are reinforced with cables laid along the upper edge of the membranes, and the ends of the membrane cable are fixed on the adjacent expansion elements from the first expansion elements.
