SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. In the method, an apparatus for raising the level of vacuum in the milk collection system contains a pump to generate a decrease of pressure between its inlet and outlet, the pump is designed to connect to the milk collection system at the inlet; and a directional control valve for switching the pressure tank either to the inlet or to outlet of the pump, wherein the pump can transfer the medium from the milk collection system and the pressure tank to the surrounding space, when the pressure tank is attached to its inlet. Said milk collection system contains a receiving funnel for receiving a woman’s breast and a container for collecting milk, and the directional control valve is adapted to switch the pressure tank from the inlet pipe to the pump outlet pipe when the pressure in the pressure tank is below a predetermined threshold pressure. Disclosed is a breast pump device and a method for using a breast pump device.
