FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to polyalkyl(met)acrylate polymer used as an additive to lubricating compositions. Polyalkyl(met)acrylate polymer is proposed, obtained by polymerization of a monomer composition containing: (a) from 20 to 35% by weight of composite ester of (met)acrylic acid and the first hydroxylated hydrogenated polybutadiene with an average molecular weight from 1500 to 2500 g/mol; (b) from 5 to 15% by weight of composite ester of (met)acrylic acid and the second hydroxylated hydrogenated polybutadiene with an average molecular weight from 4000 to 6000 g/mol; (c) from 10 to 75% by weight of one or more C1-C30alkyl(met)acrylates; and (d) from 0 to 65% by weight of styrene monomers containing from 8 to 17 carbon atoms selected from a group, consisting of styrene and substituted styrenes having an alkyl substituent in the side chain, where the total weight of monomers (a) and (b) is at least 25%, and the total weight of monomers (a)-(d) in total is 100% by weight. A method for the production of polyalkyl(met)acrylate polymer, its use, and a lubricant composition containing polyalkyl(met)acrylate polymer are also disclosed.
EFFECT: production of polyalkyl(met)acrylate polymers that provide high viscosity index, shear resistance and solubility after shear.
