FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: shortening of the rotor blade of the turbomachine is carried out by removing the material from the top of the blade using a belt-grinding apparatus. Said rotor blades remain installed during the shortening inside the body of the turbomachine. To expose the rotor blades to be machined, a part of the body and the parting joint of the body are removed. Said belt-grinding apparatus is attached to the parting joint of the body in the region of the rotor blades that are to be machined. Said belt-grinding apparatus is oriented relative to the rotor blades that are to be shortened and the rotor blades are shortened in situ using the belt-grinding apparatus, while the rotor is continuously rotated and the grinding dust produced during grinding is extracted. Said belt-grinding apparatus for carrying out the above method comprises a grinding belt driven by a motor, a feed device, an attachment device, an orienting device and an extraction device. Above feed device is designed to carry out feed and travel movement of the grinding belt, and the attachment device provides the attachment of the belt-grinding apparatus on the parting joint of the turbomachine body. Above orienting device is used for the orientation of the grinding belt and the blades to be shortened. Above extraction device provides extraction of grinding dust that are produced during the grinding process.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows to reduce the time and simplify the operation to shorten the blades of the turbomachine.
