This system includes a source of electromagnetic radiation that operates to emit electromagnetic radiation into the active playing area, a sensitive device that operates to receive the electromagnetic radiation after reflection from an object’s retroreflective material, located in the active playing area and capable of generating data based on the reception of reflected electromagnetic radiation from a series of positions of the object, a controller that operates to process the data generated by the sensing device in order to determine whether the series of the positions of the object correspond to a stored gesture, and output a control signal to actuate the effect when the series of the positions of the object correspond with the stored gesture.
EFFECT: providing the ability to create visual effects based on the detected electromagnetic radiation, indicating the movement of the object.
