The system is configured to track the electromagnetic emission reflected in the opposite direction and associate the electromagnetic emission reflected in the opposite direction with multiple elements reflecting in the opposite direction within the detection area, identify changes in the electromagnetic emission reflected in the opposite direction and associate the identified changes with the information on the vehicle, evaluate the information on the vehicle in order to determine the movement of the vehicle, the size of the vehicle, the shape of the vehicle, the position of the vehicle, or a combination thereof, and control an automated apparatus based on the evaluated information on the vehicle in order to provide a representation or an output associated with the movement of the vehicle, the position of the vehicle, or both within the detection area.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of a tracking system in an outdoor environment and in the presence of other sources of electromagnetic emission.
