FIELD: vessels and other watercrafts.

SUBSTANCE: system uses communications, user interfaces, and data sources to identify sea obstacles (for example, icebergs, ice floes, drift ice, et cetera) near the target structure performing the specified operations. System monitors the positions of these identified sea obstacles relative to the target structure over time and predicts any possible threats. When a threat is predicted, the system plans to deploy support vessels, lighthouses, et cetera to respond to the threat.

EFFECT: system and method for modeling marine threats protects a target marine structure in ice-covered or other maritime areas.
