SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of the pharmaceutical industry, in particular to a method for producing an agent from vegetable raw materials having an anxiolytic and antidepressant effect. Method of obtaining agent with anxiolytic and antidepressant effect from the grass of the catnip multi-cut by extraction of plant material, while the crushed plant material is subjected to hydrodistillation to obtain an essential oil in the ratio of raw materials:water 1:(8–10) when heated for 30–40 minutes and boiling for 60–80 minutes, the mixture of plant materials and water is filtered and washed on the filter with an additional volume of water, comprising 10–12 % of that taken for hydrodistillation, then the residue of plant material after hydrodistillation is mixed with 90 % ethanol in the ratio of raw materials:extractant 1:(10–12), the mixture is subject ed to ultrasonic treatment with a frequency of 50 kHz at 70 °C for 45–60 minutes, filtered and washed on the filter with an additional volume of 60 % ethanol, comprising 20–25 % of that taken for ethanol extraction, the aqueous and alcoholic extracts are concentrated in vacuo to 1/4–1/6 of the original volume, the concentrated ethanol and aqueous extracts are combined, dried, crushed, the essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation is added and mixed.

EFFECT: method described above contributes to the production of a catnip multi-cut from the herb, which has an increased anti-oxidative and anti-depressive effect.
