FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: described is a dry composition containing one or more polyols, which, when an aqueous medium is added, forms a homogeneous paste suitable for use in haemostasis procedures. Composition may further contain an extrusion enhancing component, such as albumin. Also described are methods for producing said dry composition, a paste obtained from said dry composition, and the use of said dry composition or paste for medical purposes and for surgical interventions.
EFFECT: paste is formed spontaneously upon addition of a liquid, therefore, for the formation of said paste does not require mechanical mixing.
