FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. Method includes alternating band plowing to a depth of 0.22–0.24 m with an unprocessed strip, changing in space annually. Width of the plowed and untreated strips is 3 and 2 m, respectively, that provides zones of active underground flow and additional wetting of the untreated strips and leads to the leveling of soil moisture in a layer of 0–30 cm on the plowed and untreated strips.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to effectively retain, accumulate and evenly distribute soil moisture, significantly reduce energy consumption, contributes to an increase in the productivity of grain crops and an increase in the anti-erosion stability of soils in areas with insufficient moisture.
