SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chromatographic analysis, can be used for ion chromatography with chemical suppression of the electrical conductivity of the mobile phase. Method for determining the composition of aqueous solutions includes the injection by an injector into the flow of eluent of the sample entering the purification from extraneous micro-impurities in a protective column, further separation of the sample in the ion-exchange column, the flow of eluent with separated substances into the suppressive column to neutralize the electrically conductive components of the eluent, and the quantitative determination of inorganic anions by the conductometric detection system, 10–50 ml of the hydrosol of the nano-cation-exchanger in the H-form are processed in the off-line mode beforehand, with a concentration of functional groups of 0.01–0.1 M, followed by washing with acetonitrile, water and eluent 20–50 ml each, and after the sample is fed into the eluent stream, a chelating agent is introduced, which is 1–10 mM sodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate solution.

EFFECT: technical result is a significant reduction in the cost of analyzing aqueous solutions and the convenience of a single sample inlet while simultaneously determining the anions and cations of chelating metals.
