FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling a pump unit when a pump is clogged. Pump unit contains a pump with motor (D) and a control unit with the possibility of actuating D. During operation, D has an operating parameter from which its torque can be determined. Operating parameter has a normal value PN during normal operation of D in the first direction. According to the method, it is activated by means of the control unit D in the first direction; stopping D if the real value P of the operating parameter has exceeded the predetermined limit value PI of clogging, where PI≥1.05⋅PN; is actuated using the control unit D in the second direction, opposite to the first direction, during a predetermined time TR of flushing; and stopping D, if the absolute value of the real value P of the operating parameter during the flushing time TR exceeded the absolute value of the first limit value PL1 of undoing, where |PL1|≥1.1⋅PI, otherwise stopping D after flushing time TR and returning to normal operation.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the number of clogging with which the pump unit can cope on its own, and eliminate the need for maintenance personnel to perform emergency shutdowns.
