FIELD: wastewater treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an alarm control module (13) for a wastewater pumping station, where at least one pump (9a, 9b) is designed to pump wastewater from a wastewater reservoir (1). The alarm control module is designed to process at least one level variable (h) indicating the level of filling of the wastewater tank (1), and at least one variable (p%, P%, C%) of performance indicating the performance of the wastewater pumping station. The variable (p%, P%, C%) of productivity is determined relative to a certain statistically nominal productivity (pref, Pref, Cref). The alarm control module (13) is designed with the possibility of giving an alarm that requires intervention only if all of the following conditions are met: a) at least one variable (h) of the level is close to or exceeds the specified alarm threshold (hm), b) at least one variable (h) of the level is increasing and c) at least one variable (p%, P%, C%) of performance is less than the performance threshold. The method for operation of a wastewater pumping station includes the stages at which: the nominal capacity (pref, Pref, Cref) is statistically determined (901); at least one variable (p%, P%, C%) of productivity, indicating the performance of the wastewater pumping station relative to the nominal capacity (pref, Pref, Cref) is determined; at least one level variable (h) indicating the level of filling of the wastewater tank (1) and at least one variable (p%, P%, C%) of productivity and supply (907) an alarm signal are processed (903), requiring intervention only if all of the following conditions are met: a) at least one variable (h) of the level is close to or exceeds the specified alarm threshold (hm), b) at least one variable (h) of the level is increasing and c) at least one variable (p%, P%, C%) of performance is less than the performance threshold.

EFFECT: reduction in the number of false alarms due to changes in nominal performance is provided.
