FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery, and may be applicable to access the structures of the lateral neck. Immediately after dissection of the superficial plate of the intrinsic fascia of the neck, filaments of the sternocleidomastoid muscle go to the lateral segment of the superior nuchal line of the occipital bone. Muscle fibers are bred in the longitudinal direction, diverted up. Under the control of a rigid endoscope, a tunnel is formed directly under the sternocleidomastoid muscle above the deep lamina of the fascia.
EFFECT: method allows to prevent damage to the accessory nerve and to the superficial cervical plexus branches, to reduce access time.
