FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pharmacology. Use of sodium salt of 11H-indeno[1,2-b]quinoxalin-11-one-oxime as a neuroprotective agent with antioxidant properties and the donator of nitric oxide has been proposed. Technical effect: the use of sodium salt of 11H-indeno[1,2-b]quinoxaline-11-one-oxime among mice with ischemia/reperfusion of the brain reduces the size of the focus of necrosis and the degree of neurological deficit, increases blood levels of nitric oxide; by antioxidant activity, the compound is not inferior to the reference ionol preparation.
EFFECT: invention can be used to treat cerebrovascular diseases.
