SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agricultural production, namely to methods of preparing cotton for harvesting. Method comprises mechanical action on side roots thereof when opening one or two cotton bolls on a bush. Impact on the root system of cotton is performed by mechanical pulling at the depth of the arable horizon without affecting the skeletal part of the bush with longitudinal laying of the lateral roots.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the yield of cotton and the quality of cotton.
