FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce butt joints by automatic arc welding under a flux layer, in particular, for welding the bottoms to the steam generator body. Welding tractor contains undercarriage (1), cassette for electrode wire (9), flux bin (8), and welding head mounted on undercarriage (1). Welding head includes electrode wire feed mechanism (4), correctly guiding mechanism (5) and mouthpiece (7). Welding tractor is equipped with a magnetic clamp located at the bottom of cart (1), with the possibility of connecting cart (1) with guide rail (11) with magnetic clamps, providing movement of the welding tractor along the axis of the weld. Corrective slide (2) is installed in the front of cart (1). Tubular insulator (10) for the electrode wire is fixed between cassette (9) and the welding head. Correct guide mechanism (5) of the welding head is made with the possibility of turning the electrode wire through an angle of 90°. Cassette for electrode wire (9) is mounted on the back side of cart (1) at an angle of 45° and is made closed and self-unwinding. Welding head is fixed horizontally across the movement of the tractor with mouthpiece (7) thereof located above the weld parallel to the axis of movement of the tractor.

EFFECT: invention provides high quality welding of ring hard-to-reach joints.
