SUBSTANCE: method involves determining engine shaft moment for drilling bit rotation under load applied thereto; determining engine pressure drop corresponding to this moment from downhole drilling motor characteristics; determining pressure at drilling rig standpipe in idle downhole drilling motor operation regime Px as drilling tool with drilling bit and downhole drilling motor is lowered in well to well bottom and after well flushing up to drilling mud parameter equation; applying load to drilling bit by unloading drilling pipe string weight until pressure at standpipe increased by (Pp-Px) value; controlling necessary load to be applied to drilling bit from said value during following well bottom sinking.
EFFECT: increased drilling speed and elimination of expensive complicated bottomhole telemetering system usage.
