SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the vehicles. Work machine with a diesel-electric traction drive containing an internal combustion engine, an alternator, a set of power electronics having a modular design, as well as an electric motor integrated into a rear axle driving a rear wheel and connected to it. Engine is longitudinally installed in the work machine forward of the rear driving axle. Power electronics are located near the rear driving axle of the work machine, between the parallel longitudinal frame rails of the work machine and in the longitudinal direction behind the output shaft of the engine. Power electronics is divided into two or more functional modules. Each module is located in its own individual encapsulated housing. Each housing is made with the possibility of to be installed and disassembled individually.

EFFECT: it is possible to replace the power electronics modules.
