FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of solid synthetic granular inorganic adsorbents. Method comprises the preparation of a heterogeneous composition based on an aqueous solution of sodium metasilicate crystalline hydrate and solid cesium chloride. Resulting composition is brought to a boil, after which it is added to aluminum powder in small portions with vigorous stirring. Synthesized powder adsorbent is cooled to room temperature, then washed, dried and introduced with intensive and thorough mixing in the previously prepared clay matrix. Resulting mixture is pressed through a sieve and dried in air for 7 days. Maximum static sorption capacity of the obtained sorbent for cesium cations for the powder adsorbent was 2300 ± 150 mg per 1 g of adsorbent, for granular adsorbent – 1800 ± 100 mg/g.
EFFECT: invention provides obtaining of inorganic adsorbent selective for cesium-137 radionuclide.
