SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the head of the percussion drill bit for rock. Head of the drill bit contains: axially forward facing annular crushing surface; annular calibrating ring protruding axially forward from the crushing surface on the perimeter of the head part and having a calibrating surface located axially in front of the crushing surface; central platform, axially lifted from the crushing surface and having a front surface located axially in front of the crushing surface; the first and second annular cleaving surfaces that extend axially between the crushing surface and the calibrating surface, as well as the crushing surface and the front surface, respectively; at least one rock cutting chuck provided on each of the crushing, calibrating, anterior, as well as the first and second shearing surfaces, respectively; flushing grooves communicating with the inner channel and extending radially outward from the platform towards the calibrating ring and through the calibrating ring to divide the calibrating ring into ring segments; and an annular channel formed between the platform and the calibrating ring, configured to create an annular ridge in the rock and, accordingly, reduce the resistance to destruction of the rock.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase the drilling rate and/or reduce power consumption.
