FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a control device for controlling a hydraulic cylinder unit. Controller (15) receives target value (g*) related to piston (3) of hydraulic cylinder unit (1) and actual value (g) related to piston (3) of hydraulic cylinder unit (1). On the basis of difference (δg) thereof, the controller determines provisional manipulated variable (u`). Linearization unit (17) arranged downstream of controller (15) multiplies provisional manipulated variable (u`) by linearization factor (F) and outputs the product to valve control unit (7) as final manipulated variable (u), so that actual value (g) is brought toward target value (g*) at an adjustment speed. On the basis of working pressures (pA, pB) on both sides of piston (3) and/or working pressures (pP, pT) on the feed side and on the outflow side of valve control unit (7), and also on the basis of target piston force (FKL) to be applied by piston (3), linearization unit (17) determines target values (pA*, pB*) for working pressures (pA, pB). Linearization unit (17) determines linearization factor (F) dynamically as a function of actual position(s) of piston (3), target values (pA*, pB*), and working pressures (pP, pT) on the feed side and on the outflow side of valve control unit (7).

EFFECT: as a result, lag errors and destabilization of adjustment are eliminated.
