FIELD: vehicle equipment and accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mounting unit for a cushion of a vehicle, in particular for ensuring that the rear seat cushion rotates approximately about the passenger's hip point. Vehicle seat assembly comprises a fixed mounting plate, a support bar and a cushion support. Support bar is connected with the mounting plate and is configured to slide relative thereto along a path defined by a given track. Cushion support is connected to the support bar. Drive mechanism is operably connected to the cushion support to enable the cushion support to rotate about the centre of the path located opposite the track by sliding the support bar along the track. Drive mechanism includes a toothed rack rigidly connected to the cushion support, and a gear wheel at a fixed position relative to the mounting plate. Gear wheel is arranged to interact with the gear rack to bring the cushion support into rotation.
