SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the development of cognitive function in children. Disclosed is the use of lactoferrin to increase learning speed of a healthy child. It is disclosed that the effect of lactoferrin on memory is the result of its positive effect on BDNF gene levels and the subsequent effect of BDNF on the BDNF signal transduction cascade and pCREB levels in the hippocampus.
EFFECT: decrease in the number of errors in piglets in a test with a complex task on the 4th day of feeding with milk containing ½ g/l or 1 g/l of lactoferrin was shown.
