FIELD: pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pump for injecting a thick, high-viscosity material, such as a fluid mastic. Pump contains several cylinders, each of which has a piston, made with the possibility of reciprocating motion inside the cylinder. Movement of the piston in the first direction sucks fluid into the cylinder, and the movement in the second, opposite direction, injects fluid from the cylinder. Variable speed electric motor transmits the drive force to a cam mechanism that provides reciprocating pistons. Cam mechanism comprises cams having a shape and configured to actuate each piston in a first direction in less than half a rotation cycle, and driving each piston in a second direction during the remainder of the rotation cycle. Cams are configured to actuate the pistons are not in phase with respect to each other.
EFFECT: pump operates over a wide range of flow rates, allowing one high pressure pump to provide all the required flow rates.
