FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tin refining technology. Method is characterized by that arsenic is bound in solid compound with iron by dissolving it in molten tin by electrolytic anodic dissolution of iron through diaphragm impregnated with electrolyte, and by depositing iron on the renewed tin layer by its circulation with subsequent foam oxidation before detachments. Method is realized using electrolyte containing melt of chlorides with iron chloride. Method is realized in an electrolysis cell containing an anode as an iron cylinder placed in a diaphragm impregnated with electrolyte and arranged coaxially with the clearance of a shell. Shell in the lower part is equipped with a perforation section for tin circulation, above which an anode cylinder is suspended in a diaphragm with a gap, and in the upper part the neck with a smaller diameter is suspended so that an annular pocket is created, which ensures constancy of the film of the tin cathode.
EFFECT: tin refining from arsenic by selective binding thereof to a stronger FeAs compound with separation thereof in the form of solid removals with minimum loss of tin.
