FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of aluminum. Electrolysis tank comprises a lined casing designed to hold the cryolite bath and includes a bottom and side walls, a cover configured to form a closed volume for holding gases over the cryolite bath and including side walls extending above the side walls of the casing. At least one of the side walls of the cover is offset outward from the casing with respect to one of the side walls of the casing. Offset side walls of the casing and the cover are mechanically connected by at least one flange that includes at least one window through which the cell of the electrolysis tank passes progressively while moving along the translation axis T-T'.
EFFECT: improved air-tightness of the electrolysis cell with respect to gaseous pollutants.
