FIELD: electrolytic methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrolytic cell for production of aluminium. Electrolytic cell comprises a casing with a bottom and transverse and longitudinal side walls and a plurality of anode assemblies, each having an anode structure and at least one anode, a plurality of hoisting devices arranged along the longitudinal side walls of the casing to move the anode assemblies, each including a power cylinder formed by the casing and rod extending along longitudinal axis (B-B'), and an anode receiver for receiving one end of the anode structure, wherein the power cylinder is connected to the anode receiver to transfer thereto translational motion along translation axis (T-T') of the anode receiver, wherein longitudinal axis (B-B') of the power cylinder is parallel to translation axis (T-T') of the anode receiver and does not coincide with it.
EFFECT: reduced height of the electrolytic cell and reduced space between two adjacent electrolytic cells.
